Dreaming story for Ancestors of Balmawuy and Ganalbingu clans

This is how the story begins and ends. There were three ceremonial long neck freshwater turtles. These long neck turtles represent Balmawuy and Ganalbingu clans, and it is part of their ceremonial beliefs and values which they then perform in practical manner and as being proud of their ceremony. These long neck turtles travelled to reach the destination they were all aiming for, but they did not reach the place called Djirringgi together because one of the ceremonial turtle got stuck on a big log and could not reach the other side of the border, so one turtle stayed behind. Two long neck turtles travelled together (male and female) and reached Djirringgi together safely, and now the two are parents of young generations of long neck fresh water turtles. The artist has rights to paint this painting as he is the grandchild of Balmawuy and Ganalbingu tribes. Artist James Gaykamangu
