About the Didgeridoo Hut
The Didgeridoo Hut and Art Gallery is Aboriginal owned and operated and provides original, authentic Indigenous artwork from the Top End. We offer a genuine selection of traditional Indigenous artwork, ranging from the smaller pieces, which are great for a holiday memento, to the larger collectable artworks, all at competitive prices.
Established in 1998 on the busy junction of Stuart Highway and Arnhem Road in Humpty Doo in the Northern Territory, owners, Dennis and Janis, have successfully built the business selling authentic Indigenous artwork from local and national artists. Dennis’ own Aboriginal heritage, and established relationships with Indigenous communities across the Northern Territory, has played an important role in the history and growth of the Didgeridoo Hut.
Set on 20 acres on the outskirts of Darwin in the Northern Territory, Australia, Aboriginal artists regularly visit the Didgeridoo Hut to produce arts and crafts on location, as well as share their stories and given an insight into Indigenous culture with visitors. We encourage visitors and tourists to meet with the artists in a relaxed, natural environment, providing a unique opportunity to really experience Indigenous culture.

We are a member of Tourism Top End and take seriously our role in promoting tourism in the Northern Territory, which is why we encourage visitors to the Didgeridoo Hut to speak with the artists and gain a unique insight into Indigenous culture.
Aboriginal artists from remote communities throughout Australia’s Top End can be seen regularly on the Didgeridoo Hut verandah painting and chatting to visitors telling stories of the history and culture of Australia’s Indigenous people. Visitors are encouraged to gain a unique insight into traditional Aboriginal culture by meeting with the artists and hearing their dreaming stories, handed down since the beginning of time, all while surrounded by beautiful, authentic pieces of Indigenous arts and craft.
