"This painting depicts the surrounding areas of my country, Wudikapildyerr, south west of Daly River, where the wildlife is abundant in the billabongs and creeks. Billabongs are formed when the floodwaters dry up after the Wet Season and they become isolated waterholes until the rains come again. Crocodiles, barramundi, turtles and the big eyed fish also known as the boney bream inhabit the billabongs and creeks in the area. Being raised in the bush when the big eyed fish were caught we would throw them back in the water. Chlidren weren't allowed to eat these fish because of their very fine bones."
