ADA PARRY

Ada was born where the Daly River Mango Farm is now;  a country called Woodygupildiyerre, Daly River. Her clan is Marrithiyel - language - Manithiel. She was the last of her family to be born the traditional way under a tree with her two grandmothers tending to her mother. Her father was a traditional member of the Marrithiyel Tribe of Woodikapuldiya. Ada's mother is from a neighbouring tribe at Port Keats.

She was raised and educated at the Daly River Mission and there she was taught her art by Miriam Rose Ungunmerr. Her art, depicting the Dreaming and interaction with the plants and animals of her area, is inspired by her country and the traditional stories of her clan. Ada's cousin, Martina Parry, is also a famous artist.
