Barbara Panaka

Barbara is from Sterling Station which is Anmatyerre country near Alice Springs and Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory of Australia.

Barbara comes to Darwin to visit her daughters Lanita, Caroline, Louise, Sharon and Jacinta Numina.

Her style of artwork belongs to the desert people of Central Australia. Her art represents markings for women's ceremonial business and stories for hunting and gathering in their traditional country.
